These partial articular fractures start from either the epicondyle or the condyle and go into the trochlea from either the lateral or the medial side. They may also be sagittal plane capitellar or trochlear fractures (alone or in combination). Such shear injuries are very difficult to treat. By saying there is a partial articular fracture on the lateral side of the joint involving the trochlea - communications with respect to the care of that fracture can be improved.
